If it wasn't for the fact that Isla was there, Matty and Carrie wouldn't have kept in touch. She was very close with her parents especially considering her mum and dad were growing up with her being only nineteen when she was born. Isla struggled with her relationship with her father a lot during her childhood, loving him to death, but hating him because of his addiction and how it affected her mum and younger siblings. When Matty got clean when Margaret and Harrison were born it cut deep for Isla, crying to Carrie asking why he quit for them but not for her. Caroline didn't know what to say to her 10 year old daughter, hating seeing her so upset over this. Isla was too much like her father she found out, looking like her mother, acting like her father. When she got to high school she found herself drinking and staying out late with older boys with her friends. Her parents were extremely worried about her sudden attitude and behaviour. Isla often reached out to her Nana Denise for help, of course Denise helped as much as she could with her granddaughter. Isla eventually ended up locking herself in her room for months on end and became very depressed. Matty had pulled her aside one night to talk to her and ended up sleeping in her bed with her like when she was younger. She comitted suicide the next night.

Charlotte Grace Healy

DOB: May 6th 2015 Age: 10 years old Hometown: London, England Nicknames: Charlie, Lottie S/O: No One Kids: None Best Friend(s): Samuel Daniel Aesthetic: Charlotte Healy has always been a ray of sunshine. She was a very happy child and loved everything and everyone possible. Her Grandpa Tim was her favourite grandparent, and used to always spend time with him whenever she could, he absolutely adored little Lottie. Charlotte would gladly volunteered to sleepover at Grandpas if her parents needed a night off, her and her grandpa would have movie nights and living room concerts all night long, and he of course, gave her many sweets before dinner, something her father would've shook his head at. She was also very close with her older sister, Isla. When Isla passed away, her family was in complete disarray, and it hurt her so bad. She ended up being very quiet afterwards and surprise would have it, the only person who get through to her during those last couple months, was Tim.

DOB: April 19th 2018 Age: 7 years old Hometown: London, England Nicknames: Maggie, Mags, Marnie S/O: No One Kids: None Best Friend(s): Eloise Daniel Aesthetic: Maggie is the trendiest out of all the Healy children. She was the biggest fashionista as a child, and was obsessed with clothes and shopping and makeup, very girly. She had Matty wrapped around her finger from the day she was born, he would do anything for his children, but little Maggie just knew how to charm him. She did ballet since she was two years old and wants to be a prima ballerina when shes older, already focused on that career at only seven years old. The whole family makes a show to come to every recital and competition she partakes in. Margaret has quite the attitude on her and is very sassy, knows what a good comeback is for sure. She's a bit of a smart mouth, and her mother has to remind her to use her manners once and a while, but Matt thinks its hilarious.

Harrison Timothy Healy

DOB: April 19th 2018 Age: 7 years old Hometown: London, England Nicknames: Harry, Haz, Hazza S/O: No One Kids: None Best Friend(s): Joseph Marks Aesthetic: Harry is the most polite, kindest little boy ever to exist. When he was born, he was the easiest baby Matt and Carrie had ever had, never cried, never woke up in the middle of the night. His parents never had to worry about Harry running off like his twin sister, and they never got a call home from school for bad behaviour. In fact, all of his teachers adored him, he was very bright for a seven year old and extremely sweet to his classmates and any other staff members. He was friends with everyone, though Joey Marks was his "bestest" friend in the whole world, never like to exclude anyone. He and Margaret got along quite well, though Maggie was a bit more eccentric than he was, she would fight anyone who dare say a thing about her brother. Nothing made Caroline happier than seeing her twins be so close together.

Arthur Flynn Healy

DOB: February 15th 2023 Age: 2 years old Hometown: London, England Nicknames: Arch, Archie S/O: No One Kids: None Best Friend(s): Sylvie Daniel and June Daniel Aesthetic: No one has bigger beef with Matthew Healy than his son himself. Arthur is the biggest mummy's boy you'll ever meet, and he has no shame in showing it. Him and Matty often fight for Caroline's attention and she most always has to break up her time for the two boys. It's especially hard for Archie when his father's been on tour and he's gotten mummy to himself for a whole year and now here comes daddy to take her away from him. If Matty ever tries to put him to sleep or feed him at all, he will cry and whine till Matt can't take it anymore and he'll just give him to Caroline like Arthur wanted in the first place. Nothing has changed even after Rosie was born.

Rosalie Anne Healy

Annie was definitely a surprise baby, born only 16 months after Arthur. Loved nonetheless by her parents and siblings. She is always giggling at something, her daddy's funny face usually, or the family's pet dogs. She was named after her father's Nana, and she never really gets called Rosalie unless she's being reprimanded. Her and Archie has always gotten along, being so close in ages, though he gets a little too aggressive with her, not understanding that he can't play with her just yet.

Ryan was home and left a little under a week ago. The first few days were rough, honestly. My stress of having to share him, my burning need for control over our time, ruined the mood a little at first, for both of us. We went to Colorado, and it was nice. I love and am comfortable with his family. We were together a lot, but he also was off a lot, with Brooks and the guys. The wedding day was beautiful. Full of love and happiness. The most memorable moment was the day after the wedding, after the girls all went to the small mining town while the guys went to the casino, I was hoping Mikayla would drop me off at the airbnb after, but instead she brought me to her apartment to hang out as we waited for the boys. I was sleepy, she set the TV up for me to lay there while her and Makaia brought the other girl home. I was dozing off, watching adventure time when they returned. We stayed up talking for over an hour, gossiping, sharing relationship drama and stories, and bonding. It was a moment that made me feel whole, that female bond. There is nothing better, than feeling safe in a woman's presence. It’s warm, gentle, nurturing. In contrast to the firey, passionate, intense feeling of safety in a mans arms. Its the beautiful and gentle balance of energy, manifested in human kind. Both are necessary, powerful. I cherish both. But I feel the most safe in that female space. Seen. Understood. And it makes sense. Its that feminine, sisterly bond. I don’t know Mikayla well, but I am so thankful for her. She embodies that nurturing, pure feminine softness and love. She is a great person. I look up to her. I am so excited for her to be my sister for life, soon.

Then ryan forgot about me and forgot to pick me up! He apologized deeply...

When we went home, I had a small meltdown. I cried. I’ve been getting in my head badly. not understanding whats real or what im making up, what im justified for feeling and whats fantasy. And then I hate myself for feeling, being upset, making something an issue. I latch onto emotions and blow up. Hate myself for it, then hate myself for hating myself for it. It all came out, leaking into our relationship. We talked through it, and I spent the evening and following day, giving myself and him space from each other, trying to reconnect with myself. I felt better by the end of the day. He came over and each day after was special and more fulfilling. On Tuesday, we got breakfast at Josephs, then went home to watch some love island and hang out. We went and got Nelsons, then went to his house to swim. Swimming with him gave me butterflies, it made me feel giddy. I have such a big crush on this boy. I felt a whole lot of nostalgia... back in stillwater, no worries, just spending time together, getting icecream, swimming. i felt back in high school again, But this time he didnt break my heart. I can’t believe this boy is now mine, for good. He went fishing with his dad, then i picked him back up, we made really good sliders and watched the mario movie which i loved. We had many amazing moments together. On our last day, we saw the flash movie. It was an emotional movie, at the end i held his hand and thought about how fully I love him, With my whole body. Its unconditional, he can do nothing wrong in my eyes now. We have our incompatibiites. We fight, We disagree, We clash. But we love each other. We grow together, we have passion. This love is the one I have always felt I will have in my soul. and while sometimes it is hard, it is everything to me, Our love is valuable, i would never throw it away. I have lived and learned and made mistakes and now I know how committed I am to loving him forever. I love him so much it consumes me. I am so excited to be in his arms for good in 2 short months. We are almost there. I feel our love is written in the pages of a book. I will cherish it all my life. How I love Ryan so much.

Description: Mike, Ichabod, and Abbie enter Purgatory to retrieve Ichabod's wife, Katrina.

Mills, Ichabod and Mike walked through the woods with Henry Parish, the Sin-Eater, to the spot of the place where Purgatory could be reached. It had been a wild series of events from the Headless Horseman to the searching of George Washington’s true tomb to the map that led them to this very spot. Not even a month ago, Mike had not believed in Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory but now they were about to see it for themself.

Ichabod and Mills talked about how they would find Katrina while Mike was mentally preparing themself for what they were all about to witness. Ichabod told Mills that Katrina went to the Grace and Joseph church every day to pray for the soul of their dead son. Then he made a joke about seeing Purgatory during life, which neither Mills, Mike, nor Parish took kindly to.

When they arrived at the spot, Parish gave them a series of warnings. That this would be a dangerous mission and that Purgatory would tempt them to stay. They were not to believe what would happen or eat or drink anything offered.

Ichabod opened the print version of Washington’s map and told everyone that Washington had left an incantation there that would summon the doorway. Parish told the trio that these same words, when repeated, would open the doorway again to allow them out.

Before the trio recited the incantation, Parish said that he had come to care deeply about the three of them and that they shouldn’t lose hope.

Then Mike, Mills, and Ichabod all began to recite the words together.“We, the penitent, with humble heart upon this threshold do summon thee: in mirror’d form appear a gateway to the world between worlds.”

As they finished, and as the words suggested, the reality next to them shattered like a mirror, revealing a pathway like an old cathedral with a bright light at the end.

They each took the other’s hand and walked in.

Mike’s friends faded away and a familiar place appeared in their stead.

It was a hotel room from a hotel that Mike had spent much of their childhood in and out of. There were two beds: one that held their brother’s sleeping form and another where their parents had been. Their luggage was strewn in the corner and the tables were lined with varying items.

As Mike moved out of the three layers between them and the air, their parents appeared in the doorway.

“What happened?” Mike asked them. “Ichabod and Mills we were…”

Mike’s parents looked at them strangely.

“Who?” their mom asked.

“Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills,” Mike said. “They were just here holding my hands.”

“What a weird dream,” their dad said. “Come on, we brought muffins from downstairs. Then we’ll go to the park.”

“The park?” Mike asked. “What park? I moved to New York after college.”

“College?” their mom laughed. “Mikayla, you’re twelve.”

Mike bristled at the name they hadn’t been called since they had seen their parents last then turned to the mirror. As suggested, Mike saw the twelve-year-old version of themself in the mirror.

“No,” Mike said. “I went to Harvard Law and then I moved to Sleepy Hollow.”

“Come on,” their mom said. “Opening’s in twenty minutes. Have a muffin.”

Something about their mom’s tone relaxed them, convinced them their memories were dreams. They reached for a blueberry muffin, a much treasured breakfast item to them, and went to take a bite.

Then, a flash of a memory with Ichabod and Mills appeared in their mind.

“I miss California sometimes,” they said when Ichabod had just learned of his son. “I go through the holidays and remember happy trips with my family that ended quite a long time ago.”

“I’m not twelve anymore,” Mike said. “And I don’t live with you anymore. This isn’t real.”

The figures masquerading as their parents grew hostile and started saying terrible things.

“You ruined our family,” their mom said. “We were happy then you went and got sick.”

“No,” Mike shot back. “We were never happy. Not really. You and Dad made a million mistakes that all fucked up my life, even now. I’m going to find my friends, who actually care about me.”

The hotel faded and a strange, eerie place came forward. A myriad of souls walked together in despair. Among them they found Mills and Ichabod.

Ichabod was leaning over Mills and lightly tapped her. She shot up then said, “Crane. This isn’t real.”

“Our surroundings may be an illusion, yet I assure you I am the genuine article,” he told her.

“What he said,” Mike said as they approached. “At least, I’m pretty sure I am.”

Mills asked Ichabod about what she taught him after they had caught the Headless Horseman. Ichabod raised a fist and gave her a fist bump.

“Detective,” Abbie said. “What weird thing do you say every time we make a left?”

“Lefting leftaroo,” Mike said sheepishly.

“Tell me again, why that phrase in particular?” asked Ichabod.

“I keep telling you it’d be hard to explain and you keep asking,” Mike replied. “If we die, just know it’s from a Barbie movie.”

“From a what?” Ichabod asked.

“I guess we survived our first test,” Mills said.

“Temptation,” Ichabod said.

“I never want to do that again,” Mike said.

“When I remembered the two of you,” admitted Ichabod. “I saw this world for what it truly is.”

“Same,” said Mills.

“Me too,” Mike agreed. “I suppose Parish was right about our connection. Even though I’m not technically a Witness.”

“We couldn’t do this without you,” said Mills. Ichabod nodded in agreement.

Mike smiled. “Let’s go find Katrina.”

Katrina had never shown herself to Mike like she had Ichabod and Mills. She never had cause to do so. Mike couldn’t help but think what a beautiful woman she was and how she differed from the image Mike had made based on her husband’s descriptions.

She was noticeably upset by the trio’s arrival and said she had told Ichabod not to return here. Ichabod asked what she knew of Washington’s Bible, only to learn she knew only that Ichabod was to find it.

Then Ichabod began to explain the map that had lead them there and the coming of the Second Horseman.

“No soul can leave this place without being granted forgiveness,” Katrina explained eventually.

“Well that sucks,” Mike said. “What can we do?”

“Another soul would have to take my place,” she said. “And I cannot ask that of any of you.”

Mike frowned. “I care about you Ichabod, really I do, but I wouldn’t survive this place.”

Ichabod suggested it be him but Mills refused to let him.

“I’ll do it,” said Mills.

“Absolutely not,” Mike objected. “We’re not leaving anyone here.”

Ichabod tried to convince Mills not to but she wished to face Moloch. Mike was impressed by her bravery but unimpressed by her stupidity.

“What about what Moloch said?” Mike asked.

“This would only fulfill his prophecy,” Ichabod said.

A growl was heard in the distance and it was time to leave.

Katrina gave an amulet created by the Sisterhood of the Radiant Heart to Mills to protect her from Moloch.

Katrina promised Abbie that she would return as quickly as she could to save her.

“I swear to you, for as long as I can draw breath…”

“Our work is not done,” Mills said, looking at both of her friends. “You will come back for me.”

Ichabod and Mike pulled her into a hug.

“I will hate coming back here,” Mike said. “But I’ll brave anything for our friendship, Mills.”

Ichabod whispered something to her and they pulled away.

Mike took one last look at her, someone who had so quickly become a good friend.

Something at the door banged. Mike, Ichabod, and Katrina moved toward the door to repeat the incantation and let themselves out of Purgatory.

Reality cracked once more and Mike felt a pang at the thought of leaving a friend in such a horrid place.
